We Need To Put An End To People Playing Pickleball At The Airport Before It's Too Late

I'm one of the biggest champions of pickleball you'll come across. Fully addicted to the game, and will talk to anyone with a functioning set of ears about it. When people say things like "How do you know that someone plays pickleball? Because they don't stop talking about pickleball", they are talking about me. Is it a cult? I don't give a shit either way because I'm all the way in.

With that being said...I am all the way out on this disturbing trend of people breaking out the paddles and getting a game in while waiting for a delayed flight at the airport.

The airport is this bizarre place where neither time nor money actually exist. It's a world in which there really aren't any rules. If you want to grab a beer and a burger at 4am, you can grab a beer and a burger at 4am. Really the only rule you have to follow in an airport is to just not be an asshole. Everybody is already miserable enough dealing with the constant bullshit of traveling. Delayed flights, missed connections, the next available flight isn't until next month, babies crying, etc. etc. Traveling is awful, and the one thing you have to do as a contributing member of society is just not add on to the bullshit that everybody is already dealing with in there.

Nothing is more bullshit than having to listen to a pickeball getting whacked around for a few minutes because Greg and Nancy need everybody in Terminal B to know how much they play pickleball.

We're already fighting an uphill battle here, people. The rest of the world already disrespects pickleball enough as it is. They say it's a game for old people. They call it a psyop. And every pickleball court in America is dealing with angry ass neighbors filing noise complaints and trying to get them shut down. People aren't going to see a middle aged couple playing pickleball at the gate for a flight and think to themselves, "wow, how neat is that". They are going to say to themselves, "I fucking hate pickleball players"

So we need to cut the shit. Put an end to it right now before it gets too out of hand. If you truly care about pickleball and you see someone playing in the airport, stomp on the ball. The fate of the sport depends on it.

Sidenote: If you desperately need to let everyone around you know how much pickleball you play, just take a bunch of practice air swings like golfers do in public.
